With the enormous rise of streaming, downloading etc. there were some in the industry who thought that the CD business was on its way out. Well it certainly may be slowing down, but it hasn’t dented the business of Proper Music at the Gateway Business Centre, London.
Drew Hill, Managing Director of Proper Music Distribution Limited, has now announced that Topic Records has come under his management and as the company move into a new, vast warehouse for their ever-expanding business, he sees CDs holding their own.

AFO has consulted with advisors at Westminster who tell us “Planning and Licensing was discussed by a Lords Select Committee and put into a report. It is not a government proposal, however, government would normally respond in due course to the report, outlining if it is in agreement or not with the recommendations.”
Don’t panic, organisers of events and professional firework people still allowed. This is a revision to Section 134 in the Police and Crime Act 2017 now referring to the possession of pyrotechnic articles at musical events.
AFO is delighted that this has been extended from sports to the events industry. The revision is now in place.
However, what about lantern parades? Perhaps the insurance industry can give some thought to this and consider what now!
