Did you know that our folk festival directory to UK and European festivals is one of the most popular parts of our website? It gets consistently high views all year round and as we run it in collaboration with fRoots magazine and the Association of Festival Organisers there is a constant stream of traffic from their sites.
Festival goers seem to be choosing which ones to go to earlier every year (so let us know your 2019 dates as soon as poss!). We have put together some options for festival organisers who want to give their event an extra push and stand out from the competition on our pages.
NEW - Sponsored content
This is a way of advertising that has a very different reach to display advertising. Basically sponsored content is just like the news items or features that we regularly post, so unlike the normal ads on the site they are picked up by search engines. Think of the as a way to spread your message and at the same time improve you own rankings and catch a whole new audience. Plus it is online for ever more, which is a bit better than buying an ad for a month or two. The posts will appear in the 'feature' section on the home page and they will also appear on each page of the festival directory.
You may well have seen the kind of thing on the Guardian website, like this https://www.theguardian.com/untapped-usa/2018/may/25/due-south-a-road-trip-through-americas-musical-heartland
Plus, it gets shared - We will promote it to our 10,000 followers across social media and pop it into our email newsletters, so the potential audience is huge - plus each page has it's own share buttons to encourage readers to share it with their networks.
What does it cost?
A one off post is just £100 if you supply the copy, this could be an existing press release that we can use as a basis to flesh out and optimise for search engines. This will be placed in our feature section on the home page and in the festival directory. We will also include a 2 week side banner advert within that cost. We can run multiple items that build up into a bigger picture if needed, and multiple stories guarantee that it will be on the homepage for longer. For more than two items we can offer a generous discount, just get in touch to talk it through.
The crucial thing is that we will only run sponsored content that is relevant to our readership, they trust our judgement and we want to maintain that. So we do have a few common sense editorial constraints that we can go through with you if you decide to proceed.
NEW AND IMPROVED Featured festivals
We have been busy adding google maps to all of our regional festival pages, have a look athttp://www.spiralearth.co.uk/festival-directory/south-east-england-festival-directory/ as an example. This gives the visitor an at a glance idea of where the festivals all are in that region. By using the familiar google maps interface we can add pop up info to each icon. Free listings have the location, date and web link. Featured festivals get their logo added along with a different coloured animated icon to make them stand out, plus the festival is listed below the map under the heading of 'Spiral Earth Recommends'.
To be in the featured festivals costs just £150 for 3 months - and if this extends beyond the date of your festival it can be used to promote next years date and early bird ticket offers. Catch those punters whilst you are still on their radar!
These are available in four sizes, details on this can be found at http://www.spiralearth.co.uk/advertise/
Prices per month:
Side banner £100
Just reply to this item to find out more about any of these offers - some are a first come first served basis.

The En Indy Awards
The story of David and Goliath is well known but the reality is that Goliath normally wins and this is reflected in many industry awards programmes. EN introduced The Indy Award recently to cater for exactly this – to allow smaller, independent organisers to compete with their peers rather than the global behemoths we know and love.
