Wild Rumpus

Wild Rumpus exist in a space where arts and culture meet the natural environment, creating events that immerse audiences in incredible stories and moments of wonder. Here's our news!

The bees are buzzing, the chickens are laying, and summertime in our new farmhouse base is feeling pretty idyllic. But Team Wild Rumpus are dreaming of nights under canvas, the smell of campfires, woodland gigs and dreamy days getting lost in theatre, circus, poetry and provocation. Our summer events are almost within grasp, and our hearts are beating faster at the very thought! We can't wait to join you all under the stars.

We can't stop pinching ourselves to check that this is really the tenth Just So Festival. What an honour to be spending our tenth magical, spellbinding weekend with you lovely lot. We've got all sorts of ridiculous treats in store. Our festival family of acrobats and adventurers, magicians and musicians, storytellers and street performers are just waiting to gather, for the most glorious celebration. See you there, wonderful ones. You can see the programme and book tickets here.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who came along to the very first Hinterlands Film Festival. We took over barges, parks, castles and pubs across Skipton, not to mention the stunning Plaza Cinema, and had the most incredible time. Tears, laughter, dancing and drinking. What a blast! See you next year, film lovers of the North!! Check out the photo gallery here.

Timber Festival is just 5 weeks away! 5 weeks! This year's programme is something else. Woodland DJs, provocative speakers, new music, circus high amongst the trees, stunning installations, campfires, laughing yoga, open air cinema, workshops and adventures. The festival is bursting at the seams with incredible things, all with our love of forests and trees at their heart. Check out the programme and buy tickets here.

Involved in cultural events in Cheshire?  Join us on Monday 17 June 2019 5-7pm at Wild Rumpus' woodland base for the next Culture Session. What can happen when venues throw open their doors for a weekend of action?. Come and Join in the conversation with Stella Duffy, Director of Fun Palaces.

The Culture Sessions is a monthly gathering of the cultural community who are shaping events and festivals in Cheshire. If you'd like to join the network and attend this event, please join The Culture Sessions facebook group.

Volunteer! Come and join the Wild Rumpus Family! Applications are open to apply to volunteer at Timber Festival and Just So Festival. You can expect to meet the most incredible bunch of people, work really hard, learn lots and lots, eat really well, and generally have an incredible, life-affirming experience! There are lots of ways to get involved all year round, with monthly community gatherings at our woodland base and volunteer weekends before each event to get to know us better. Click here for all the details and how to apply. We can't wait to meet you!
