From Glastonbury to Ibiza
The good news is Michael and Emily Eavis, in true Glastonbury fashion, are doing the decent thing and offering first shout for 2021 tickets to the 135000 peeps who paid the £50 deposit for this year’s ticket. Or if they need the cash, they can have their £50 back; bet there aren’t many of those.
So, the BIG one is gone and there have been many others. No doubt more to come (and go). This is a very sad time for our industry, and is having a devastating effect on artists, techies, promoters, festival organisers, full and part time staff and of course the 1000’s of volunteers who make it all tick.
These are the others that we know are either cancelling until 2021 or postponing to a later date this year. BUT you must check the festival’s own website for full details as some are cancelling, others are postponing.
Costa del Folk Ibiza; Folk on the Pier; Music on the Marr; Gate to Southwell; Ireby (Cumbria); Morpeth Northumbrian Gathering; Bearded Theory, Glastonbury.
Ticket sales are vital to us all especially at this most difficult time, so please don’t let your news spreading spoil a sale.
If any AFO members out there are making plans to change dates, please do let us know and we can help tell the world. See AFO COVID-19 for info on support, loans, questions answered and more.
This will all be reviewed at AFO Conference 13-15 November 2020
Good luck to you all and stay safe to sing and play again another day.
