Kendal Mountain Festival 2020

Kendal Mountain Festival's Announcement:

As mountain enthusiasts, we’re all familiar with the challenge of assessing risk. Do you continue to head for that summit, or seek another route?

Recent events have made it clear that, for us, it’s time to re-calibrate. We all want Kendal Mountain Festival to excite and inspire in the same way that it has for forty years. But bringing people together on the ground this particular year, with the constantly-shifting guidelines, is looking increasingly problematic.

We have therefore taken the decision to move Kendal Mountain Festival online-only. Is this a big move? Yes. Is it sensible? Yes. Will it still bring the Kendal magic? Absolutely!

We’ll be pouring all our effort and energy into creating an amazing experience at Kendal Mountain Festival Online. All the excitement and inspiration of our usual live events will be available, live-streamed from the Lake District onto your screens. We’ve received a record number of entries into our Film Competition, so you’ll be able to access a packed programme of the best films from across the world. And everything will be available to watch for a period after the main Festival. Finally; your chance to catch all those events and films that you can’t usually fit in!

It’s also the launch point for our brand-new venture: a permanent digital platform that will bring you carefully-curated, exciting and inspirational content from around the world, all with the Kendal spirit and vibe, available year-round!

So it’s onwards and upwards! We’re staying positive, creative and bold as ever. Let’s make sure we continue to celebrate the outdoors, bring ourselves together as a community but also open our arms to new communities and Festival goers and share the many adventures we have in store for you this November.
