More news on applying for the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG)

You might qualify – you need to ask your local authority NOW

66 Councils who have given out Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) to those without Business Premises (it was 17, then 34, then 42, not it’s 66 and rising)

Some of those councils’ grants may have closed but are still good examples to quote to other councils, of what they did.  Others may still be open to apply for – and equally useful to quote for other councils/

The councils are:

Northern Section area:

1. Durham County Council;

2. Darlington Borough Council, County Durham;

3. Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, (from 2015 nominally addressed as in Yorkshire)

Yorkshire Section area:

4. Wakefield Metropolitan District Council, West Yorkshire;

5. Kirklees Metropolitan Council, West Yorkshire;

• If you live in one of these areas and have either not applied or have applied and been rejected for not having Business Premises; then do apply / reapply now.

• If you do not live in one of these areas but have either not applied for the ARG or have applied and been rejected for not having Business Premises; then apply / reapply in your area – quoting these 66 places as evidence that your council should follow suit.

• In all cases, include the CEO of the Council and your local MP in copies of your application / complain to them both if you are rejected.

• Remember to keep all copies of all correspondence related to applications, including screenshots on your phone of online correspondence.

There is also a chart available on request from [email protected] that can show how much Councils have received from central government an how much they have spent (and NOT spent) so far.
