National Lottery Project Grants is Changing

About the fund

National Lottery Project Grants provides funding to individuals and organisations for time-limited arts, library and museums projects.

They have refreshed the fund to help deliver their new strategy, Let’s Create. Made possible thanks to income from National Lottery players, the fund will continue to support individual artists, community and cultural organisations across the country with grants between £1,000 and £100,000 and it will still be open for you to submit an application at any time.

They’ve published the new guidance for applicants so that you can familiarise yourself with the refreshed fund and are ready to get started when the application portal opens on 22 November.

What are the changes?

National Lottery Project Grants want to support more ambitious activity, more quickly. So from 22 November, you’ll be able to apply for up to £30,000 and get your decision within 8 weeks. If you’re applying for over £30,000 you’ll get a decision within 12 weeks.

They are also refreshing the application form and eligibility criteria to help them deliver the three Outcomes and four Investment Principles set out in Let’s Create.

National Lottery Project Grants is for everyone and they want to support more individual creative and cultural practitioners. There’ll be new resources on their website to help you make your application and they will be targeting some of their advice giving to those who may not have worked with them before, or who are at the start of their career.

Need a Grantium refresher?

While you’re waiting for the changes to come into effect, they are sharing some resources to help you get reacquainted with their application portal, Grantium.

Take a look at their online guide and top tips and tricks for using Grantium, including how to create and manage your profile, how to find your application form and updating your monitoring form.

Have a question? Get in touch

If you can’t find what you’re looking for in the new guidance or your question is about your existing funding award, you may find your answer in the FAQs on their website.

If that doesn’t cover it, their Customer Services team can help by email, webchat or telephone. They’re available Monday to Friday, 10am - 4pm and they can answer lots of questions you might have: from eligibility to apply, to using Grantium.
